The COVID-19 Pandemic

Due to the coronavirus outbreak and recommended guidelines from the CDC and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), we are suspending all meetings until further notice.  We will do our best to keep you updated via phone messaging and email of the situation and events as they arise.

Covid 19

Important Information

Johnson County recently received a grant to conduct Covid testing in communities of color. The grant has a requirement (I'm told) for the creation of 2 (full-time) or 4 (part-time) Care Resource Coordinator positions to work with communities of color within Johnson County to assist in testing for Covid 19 and to conduct related follow-up work as needed. The link below will direct you to the application for the Care Resource Coordinator position.

COVID-19 Funeral Assistance

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought overwhelming grief to many families. At FEMA, our mission is to help people before, during and after disasters. We are dedicated to helping ease some of the financial stress and burden caused by the virus.

Under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2021 and the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, FEMA will provide financial assistance for COVID-19-related funeral expenses incurred after January 20, 2020.
