Women in the NAACP



Women in the NAACP (WIN) is an official committee of the NAACP. The purposes of WIN are:

  • to enhance the leadership role of women

  • to serve as an advocacy vehicle for issues affecting women and children

  • to advocate for the positive development of children

  • to support the on-going work of the NAACP and its units, especially civil and cultural activities to enhance membership

    To empower and engage Black women in utilizing their voices in the decision-making process; to develop local solutions to cultural, educational, economic, and political issues that affect Black communities.

    BWOPA mission is to activate, motivate, promote, support, and educate African-American women about the political process, encourage involvement, and to affirm our commitment to, and solving of, those problems affecting the African-American community.

    The Greater Kansas City Women’s Political Caucus (GKCWPC)-

    GKCWPC is an affiliate of the National Women’s Political Caucus is a multi-partisan, multicultural, grass roots organization dedicated to increasing women's participation in politics and creating a power base designed to achieve equality for all women.


  • United WE

    We envision a world where all women are empowered to strengthen America’s economy and democracy. United WE tackles barriers to women’s economic growth and unlocks women’s economic potential through research, policy solutions and civic engagement.


  • Kansas Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)-

     WIC is a nutrition program that provides nutrition and health education, healthy food and other services to Kansas families who qualify. WIC stands for Women, Infants and Children.

    The National Congress of Black Women Inc

    Vision is to build a network of women of color in leadership, sustainable entrepreneurship and civic engagement while increasing access to technology and building social enterprises that eliminate gender and racial bias.


  • Women’s Business Center

    The mission of the Women’s Business Center is to develop, counsel and mentor women in all stages of business development and growth. We do this through classes, seminars, peer roundtables, one-on-one consultation, networking and referrals. We also educate women entrepreneurs on sources of funding to include micro-loans and angel funding through the Women’s Capital Connection.
